ThomasineTam is the founding director Y Festri and CircoArts, and mentor and performer with CircoPyro. Tam has been the Community Artist in LIanberis since 2011 and on the back of the successful arts projects like the Llanberis Mural and Ffair Nadolig Llanberis Christmas Fair Lantern parade, and was given Y Festri to continue creating arts in the village.
Tam trained in fashion and teaching special needs and PRU and worked in theatre wardrobe. She now runs weekly community art and circus classes. She is self employed as a designer, stylist and creative director on the North Wales music, arts and festival event scene, providing décor, workshops, community parades and fireshows. Tam has worked with companies and venues like Pontio, Hendre Hall, Neuadd Ogwen, Citrus Arts, Kaya Festival, Ymuno Festival, Big Sexy Circus and Festival, CircusWorks, and had training with Bring the Fire Project, Citrus Arts, Okhams Razor, Gandini, NoFitState and Walk the Plank. Tam has created CircoArts to take what we do out of Y Festri and create employment and work experience in the arts in North Wales. She passionately believe the youth are our future and hopes to enrich lives in our community by creating arts that evoke and inspire. |
AbbieAbbie Parry is a children’s illustrator and community workshop artist based in North Wales, creating images in both English and Welsh. Abbie loves story telling, and interweaving stories with pictures.
She graduated from the Arts University Bournemouth with a 2:1 and has since then been working professionally as both an illustrator and community artist. As well as setting up her own business creating Welsh and English learning posters, mugs, baby vests etc, which can be found in local shops and on online on etsy. Abbie has also worked with companies such as Tegid’s Toys, designing wooden puzzles; Funky Giraffe, creating patterns for baby bibs; and local start up company Blas Y Tymor, designing packaging and branding. Abbie has worked for festivals such as Llawn, Sting in the Tale, Bournemouth, Wakestock, Secret Garden Party and Standon Calling. Within community workshops Abbie has worked with a variety of companies, business, schools and councils, including Criw Celf, CARN, Dylan’s restaurant, literature wales. Abbie has set up her own craft group, Stitch N Btch, to enable the community come together and learn new skills. |
